Who are we?
The folks at Big Muddy Gear Exchange are gear nerds, sustainability enthusiasts, and passionate about creating an equitable outdoors. Landfill? Never heard of her. Our mission is to reduce the amount of gear that ends up in landfills, lower barriers to entry, and get new people out and about in the great outdoors.
We are looking to be your enablers of new adventures whether that comes from repairing your existing gear or trying your hand at something new through used gear.
Located off the banks of the Missouri and Kaw River in Kansas City, we are a convenient gateway to alpine and desert adventures as well as a staple for midwest activities.
Using secondhand gear and clothing can reduce a person's personal impact on the environment. While it isn’t enough to end the climate crisis, it is a small step to reducing waste and protecting that which we as outdoors enthusiasts love.
